Sat. Mar. 8 - Bucerias vs. Destiladeras

This morning was spent on the Bucerias beach.  Rob and Sue met fishermen who were examining the day's catch.  They had about 6 small yellow polka dotted fish in a pail and 2 spotted manta rays about the size of a sombrero.  As they cut the wings off the rays, the frigate birds were there to pick up the scraps.  Some of the smaller fish were also frigate food.  Sue had a chance to chat with an 82 year old gold miner from B.C. called Len, who has been coming to Bucerias beach for 30 years.  He said that the fishermen were fishing illegally and that the sea life in Buerias' Banderas Bay has significantly declined over the past 2 decades.  He blamed it all on the corrupt government and the under educated Mexicans.
