Sunday is family day in Bucerias. Most attend church in the square, visit the market along the dry river bed, and then spend the rest of the day on the beach. We rose early as usual, ate a delicious breakfast of oats, yogurt, fresh fruit, and almond milk, while relaxing on our palapa, overlooking the Pacific below.

Since we eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, we shop daily and Sunday market is the best. Hundreds of vendors line the river bed and adjacent streets, to sell everything imaginable. Betty bought new petal pushers, while Sue stocked up on the bananas, avacados, and romaine lettuce. She even found fresh pesto and pasta for dinner.

On our way back home, we stopped by to see how the Hickey's were doing. Kathy was at the doctors receiving her last shot for her flu. Betty joined us for lunch and then Susan and I lounged and tended to the beautiful plants in the tree house, while Betty joined Kathy, Bill, Jack, and Donna down at the restaurant on the beach for some serious dancing. We met Betty for some sun and swimming around 4 p.m. The water was lovely and many Mexican families were taking every advantage of their special family day.

Betty and Sue whipped up a delicious salad and pesto pasta dinner with wine and mango juice. The stars were bright and the evening was warm. A peaceful ending to a beautiful day.
